MISTRANSLATED, MISQUOTED AND MANUFACTURED PROPHECIES ABOUT JESUS

A TRUTHFUL ANALYSIS OF MESSIANIC PROPHECIES IN THE JUDEO-CHRISTIAN BIBLE?

DID JESUS FULFILL THEM OR DOES IT JUST APPEAR HE DID SINCE THEY END UP PURPOSEFULLY MISTRANSLATED, MISQUOTED, LIFTED OUT OF THEIR ORIGINAL CONTEXTS, AND EVEN INVENTED OUT OF THIN AIR IN THE CHRISTIAN'S BIBLE?

"Christianity's Messiah and Judaism's Messiah have nothing in common, nothing at all!" That is because they are not the same Messiah…one is a counterfeit! Which one is it?

Well that is quite a statement which the vast majority of Christians in the world today fail to understand or grasp with their limited knowledge of the origins of their own Christian faith let alone the corruption of the Hebrew Scriptures when they were mistranslated into Greek and subsequently changed down through history when recopied by Roman monks and scribes. This unknown truth escapes almost all Christians; yet the fact is that these forged, altered, and corrupted Greek translations became the very foundation for all later corrupt Latin and English versions of Christian Old Testaments and their subsequent quotations in their New Testaments. In other words, the Bible Christians and followers of Jesus carry are corrupt and forged versions of the Hebrew Scriptures in "key places" and more than likely at this time in your life you are not aware of this tragic corruption of the Christian Scriptures before you received them. It is these same forged passages that we find repeated in the New Testament as attributed to Jesus in one way or the other; the result of which is a false religious belief system concerning not only the Jesus Christ in the New Testament, but the characterization of Jesus as the presumed Jewish Messiah. A person will never know the depth of such deception until he or she begins to study the differences between these Hebrew Messianic passages in the Hebrew Scriptures and their corrupt counterparts in our Greek, Latin, and English translations of them that end up in our Christian Bibles!

These falsified passages found in different versions of Christian Bibles are not only inaccurate in depicting Jesus as the fulfillment of the Jewish Messiah, they can be shown upon examination and comparison with the Hebrew texts to be little more than corrupted verses taken from the Hebrew Scriptures which have been purposefully manipulated, purposefully misquoted, and mistranslated. Many of these Hebrew Messianic Scriptures ended up ripped from their original Hebrew contexts by overzealous anti-Judaic and anti-Semitic Gentile Christians who were not above inventing many more out of thin air many centuries ago. Such Scriptural forgery occurred in order to make the Christ of the Ancient Wisdom traditions fit traditional Jewish Messianic parameters. Correspondingly, the ancient Christ in the Ancient Wisdom was, at the hands of Church Fathers and their scribes, made to conform to the traditional Jewish Messianic parameters. Today we recognize this literary synthesis as the supposed "Jewish" Christ by then name of Jesus.
I have just made an amazing claim that staggers the imagination of most Christian readers. The question you have to ask yourself is this: "Can this be proven beyond all doubt today?" It surely can, or else as an ex-ordained Pastor I would not be devoting my life and the considerable time it takes to research this information and make it available to the Christian community in hopes of restoring Biblical truths long lost to Christians due to the Scriptural tampering by the Orthodox Roman Church. Few Christians are aware concerning the truth that lay behind their "Jesus Story" and the true Words of God than lay in shambles in the Bibles that we inherited by the Orthodox Roman Church as it was corrupted and debased by the early anti-Semitic Gentile Church of Rome during the early centuries of its evolution. Sadly, we find these same corruptions in our Christian versions today and they go unnoticed by almost all except those who have taken the time to investigate this amazing deception. This, among other reasons, is why I could no longer continue my successful pastorate once learning of this tragic fact concerning the documents and my Christian Bible which I was taught to use for my faith and practice in the Christian faith. Seminary did not teach me this, however, it provided the Biblical skills and tools to do such studies and research, which when done by me, uncovered these sad events in the history of my faith. These studies were undertaken during the early years of my pastorate as I was studying and looking for the Jewish Jesus in an attempt to recover the Hebrew Roots of my "then" Christian Faith. What I discovered not only broke my heart but also shamed me before God that I could have fallen into such a trap of religious deception. Armed with this knowledge I devoted my life to teach this truth to my brothers and sisters in my birth faith. I heavy-heartedly would find that that no matter how hard I tried to change Christianity for the better by restoring long-lost Scriptural truths it was almost hopeless and resignation from my pastorate was my only recourse. The question that you and I face is if we want to be a man-pleaser or a God-pleaser. I have answered that question myself and the information on this and other websites will help you in finding your personal answer to that same question as well. When finished, having proved to yourself that the New Testament Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah, and then what or whom is he? What does the "Jesus Story" stand for? What was it originally to mean to our Souls? If not literal or historical, as evident from seeing these mounds of textual forgery, the intent of which is to present to the unsuspecting a presumed literal and historical figure that finds its expression through the Roman Church, what is the "Jesus Story" supposed to mean to me and my Soul?

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN FROM THIS WEBSITE

This website will reveal to its readers multiple comparisons of Scriptural passages taken from both the Hebrew Bible, called the Tanakh, and various Christian Bible translations in both Greek and English.
Answer for yourself: And why will we do this? Only in so doing can the reader see for himself how "messianic prophecy" from the Hebrew Scriptures and the earlier Hebrew Bibles have been purposefully altered and changed and how these adulterated passages were later made to apply to a new Testament Jesus when the original Hebrew passages were never intended to refer to him in the slightest sense! These anti-Judaic early Church Fathers and scribes manipulated and altered the Words of God in the early centuries of the emerging Orthodox Roman Church in order to force Messianic "fulfillments" in the presumed life of Jesus. In so doing, they show little if any fear or reverence for God since they with abandon consistently "added to" and "took away" from the Words of God in order to force false fulfillments of Messianic prophecies that they made apply to Jesus. The evidence for this Scriptural forgery will speak for itself as you see example after example of Christian forgery of the Hebrew Scriptures and their later Greek translations, and it is these forged Greek translations that end up on the pages of our English Old and New Testaments today!
There is much difficult material ahead for the Christian to see and ponder. Understand from the get go that this website is an affirmation of the truth of Judaism and the faith and religion of the Jewish people and is not intended to prove Christianity wrong, but rather the religion of the Jewish people and Judaism right. It is not my intention to hurt anyone or to destroy anyone's faith with unveiling the deception to which we as Christians have unknowing fallen in our forged Bibles. Yet, it is my intention to reveal to seekers of truth what has happened to the Hebrew Scriptures and the depictions that exist in the anti-Semitic Gentile New Testament where so many religious doctrines that accompany and are applied to this Jesus render the reader and believer in such "dogmas" an idolater and blasphemer before God. It is my prayer that a truthful presentation of such materials collected in over almost thirty years of in-depth Biblical scholarship will break up the fallow ground and hearts of the readers in hope of repentance when you see such errors taught as supposed truths by an anti-Judaic and anti-Semitic orthodox Gentile Christianity.

CHRISTIANITY AND THE HEBREW BIBLE: WHAT YOU WERE NEVER TOLD BY YOUR CHURCH AND YOUR PASTOR

Christianity has based itself on the Hebrew Scriptures. Rome has too. If it had not, then Christianity would be a completely detached religion, which could not validate itself on the claimed fulfillment of biblical Judaism's Scriptures. Christianity established itself upon Judaism's foundation and, therefore, remains vulnerable to Judaism's interpretation of its own Holy Book. Let us not forget that Christianity is supposed to the "fulfillment" of Biblical Judaism; it either is or is not based upon the fulfillment of the Hebrew Scriptures. The problem we encounter is if we have in our Christian Bibles faithful and accurate representations of these Hebrew Scriptures both in our Old Testaments and in the quotes from them in our New Testaments.
Answer for yourself: How many scholarly books on this "one" book of Christianity [the New Testament] have you ever read?
Answer for yourself: Have you ever taken the time to look at and compare the quotes of the Hebrew Bible as found in your New Testament that are passed off as "fulfillments of Messianic prophecy" with the corresponding parent texts in a Hebrew-English Bible? Well I and many other "truth-seekers" have and what we have seen and learned is not only alarming but also life changing!
The question we now ask is this: Does the Jesus of the New Testament fulfill the Hebrew Scriptures or is he made to seem to be the fulfillment of them though clever manipulation of the Hebrew Scriptures though the purposeful mistranslation, misquotation, misapplication of them and even the taking of them out of context for Gentile theological purposes and agendas?

JEWS KNOW THEIR HEBREW BIBLE BETTER THAN GENTILE CHRISTIANS KNOW THIERS...NEVER FORGET THAT!

Judaism is a faith built on solid Hebrew Biblical knowledge. Most Jewish people have always lived, and live today, attached to every word, every sentence, and every nuance in their Hebrew Scriptures. Study of God's word has been a holy activity for devout Jews throughout the ages, even to the detriment of earning a living. This is common knowledge concerning the Jewish people's dedication to God made available to anyone who would inquire. Said of old is that no people know the holy revelation in God's Words better than those to whom God addressed it, namely the Jewish people. To think that Rome and the later Gentile Church is a better interpreter of the Hebrew Scriptures than the Jews and their scholars is ludicrous and stretches the believability of our very own minds.

PROOF-TEXTS OF CHRISTIANITY: ARE THESE SCRIPTURES FAITHFUL TRANSLATIONS OF THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES?

What the vast majority of Christians fail to realize is that the Hebrew Bible has nothing to say about Jesus, not one thing. Notice carefully I said the "Hebrew Bible" and not the Greek mistranslation of it with its hundreds of alterations and purposeful misquotations and mistranslations of the Hebrew Scriptures, the intent of which was to introduce foreign Gentile religious concepts concerning a son of God and Sun gods to the Jewish concept of the Messiah in the Hebrew Scriptures. It is these added religious concepts which were first added into the Hebrew Scriptures and later Greek translations of them by the apostate Essenes of Alexandria, Egypt, in 200 B.C.E., which will in a little over 200 years from their forgery be applied by the Qumran Essenes to their slain Teacher of Righteousness in 70 B.C.E. Within a hundred years, these same dogmas end up applied to the coming Avatar of the soon dawning age of Pisces. We know this celestial avatar today by the name of Jesus and before long, this "Jesus Story" was adopted and propagated by the emerging Gentile "believers" toward the end of the first century of the Common Era. The later Church Fathers call these Essenes the first "Christians" and we see this early reference of them noted in Acts 6: Acts 6:7 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. (KJV)

The Essenes had long ago departed from normative Judaism since as Zadok priests, the Hasmonean dynasty ere refused to allow the Essenes to assume their rightful place in the temple as the official priesthood of Israel. Their rejection from their rightful priesthood only fueled their later separation and total rejection in their eyes of an apostate Judaism of their day. This would only cause their further spiritual evolution away from the current expression of Judaism but further provide the impetus for their progressive radical reinterpretation of the typical Jewish Messiah. We find their legacy adopted and later elaborated upon by Rome since both the Essenes possessed at the very heart of their religious expressions, a great dependency, and influence upon the Sun and Sun worship.

Christianity's use of the Hebrew Bible is both their strength and their flaw. It is their strength because the Hebrew Bible is the word of God. It is their flaw because Gentile Christianity misinterprets and misappropriates the Hebrew Scriptures to support their claims. It is ironic, but when Christianity claims fulfillment of, and yet obliterates, the Hebrew Bible's message and prophecies, then all truth seekers have a right, even a duty, to demonstrate this terrible error which is passed off to the unsuspecting Gentile world as the "infallible, inerrant, and inspired" Word of God. Such a Christian's Bible with such falsehoods and Scriptural adulterations is anything but the Word of God. Secondarily, the Jesus depicted within such a document is anything but the "real;" in fact we accept uncritically the New Testament's depiction of the Jewish Jesus along with all the forged and falsified texts that surround him and are never aware of the need to investigate or question this "counterfeit" Jesus. Not being versed in Biblical Judaism before reading the New Testament then it is impossible to spot the forgery from the truth when reading the pages of the New Testament; we accept without question that all contained within the New Testament must be true because we have been told it is. We are set up to be deceived when but a little study into these matters will reveal the truth about the New Testament in this regard. The result is a belief in a Jesus as "the Christ" that never existed as depicted in the New Testament, and often such beliefs render the believer as stated above an idolater and blasphemer before God! Sadly, Christians never know they are wrong in their religious beliefs since they are not aware their Scriptures are less than accurate then translated from the Hebrew. Since unknowingly believing purposefully altered texts and Scriptures, as Christians, we are not aware of our true spiritual condition before God because. When taught to believe in the Bible's Scriptures, we were at the same time taught never to doubt the New Testament or ask questions about its reliability and integrity. Our pastors and priests failed to teach us at the same time, however, that these Scriptures in our Bibles, before they reached us, underwent tamperings and corruptions thousands of times. Scriptural and textual corruptions and interpolations (additions) of the Bible's Scriptures, in order to create a "Replacement Religion" in the New Testament, are prevalent from beginning to end of the Bible is a person submits himself or herself to serious Bible study. As Christians, we never knew we could be wrong yet the Jews have told our Scriptures in our Bibles are not accurate to the Hebrew going on now for 2000 years. The Jewish people and their Rabbis have consistently maintaining in the jaws of death inflicted upon them by the Christian Church that the Christian Jesus and Christian Messiah is not "the" Jewish Messiah. Christians seldom hear these warnings, or take heed of them because we grow up conditioned in our Churches reading corrupted and falsified texts over and over again, never knowing what happened to the Hebrew Bible at the hands of the Roman Church!

FAITH MUST BE BASED ON BIBLICAL REASON...WE MUST USE OUR MINDS TO ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

When a person undertakes such a study of the forgery of religious texts within Gentile Christianity and their Bibles then he quickly sees that Christianity's faith cannot be accepted by anyone who is even slightly knowledgeable of the Hebrew Scriptures and who uses his reasoning ability. As God created our minds, He expects us to use our reasoning together with our faith. Faith is not a substitute for reason, but a development from it and alongside it. God never gave us a lie or told us to believe a lie and when your study reveals to you the corruption of the Hebrew Scriptures and their twisting into false Messianic fulfillments concerning Jesus in the New Testament, then understand God never gave you these purposefully misquoted and mistranslated Hebrew Scriptures. Not did God the many Scriptures in the New Testament that derive from Hebrew verses taken out of context that you find your Christian Bibles. Anti-Semitic Gentiles are the culprit here; the same ones that gave you not only the Roman New Testament but the worked-over Old Testament as well. It is to these anti-Judaic Roman Christian Church Fathers and their scribes we must look for the origin of verses in the Hebrew Scriptures and Jewish Bibles that ended up purposefully mistranslated and misquoted in our Bibles. It is to these "textual forgers" we must look for the origin of the many words and phrases invented in our Christian Scriptures, as well as the many tenses of Hebrew verbs that were altered from the "present tense" to the "future tense" in our Christian Bibles. The purposeful alteration and corruption of present tense verbs in the Hebrew Scriptures to future tense verbs allow for the transformation of Scriptures out of their original contexts. Hence, what originally applied to historical Old Testament personages, are through textual forgery, made to apply falsely to the New Testament Jesus, thus deceiving millions, if not billions of people, down through the Christian centuries. It is time to learn the truth concerning these matters before we die and meet the Creator with idolatry as the cornerstone of our inherited forged Scriptures of the Christian faith.
JESUS' GOD IS JUDAISM'S GOD In no place in the New Testament did Jesus claim to be God, or God incarnate, or part of a Trinity, or in any way a special substance of God. This idea of Christianity has no basis in Jesus' pronouncements and finds its beginning in the forgery of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek and later all English versions of the Old Testament with its resultant quotes in the New Testament. Religious concepts having more in common with "literalized" Sun worship and "literalized" astral worship became included into later Greek and later English versions of the Hebrew Scriptures and all quotes taken from them that we find in the New Testament. These, of course, send up applied to this Jesus. In so doing a human messiah and anointed one of God becomes a "literal" Sun-godman and even God himself. Idolatry and blasphemy are the fruit of such forgery and seldom does the New Testament Christian know of this because it never dawns upon him to investigate the integrity of his Christian Bible and its faithfulness in translation from the Hebrew Bible that Jesus used. The Jewish Messiah was never to be God incarnated!
In the passages that follow for your examination, you will see beyond any doubt that Jesus' God is the God of the Jewish people, as they know Him, no other. As startling as this may be to Jews and Christians, when searched with an open mind, the New Testament of Christianity shows that the Jesus of the New Testament lived and died a Jew who believed in Judaism, the God of Judaism, and the everlasting nature of Judaism. Jesus of the New Testament was not a Christian and never advocated the establishment of any new religion. Unknown again to most Gentile Christians is the fact that the non-Jew has his place within Biblical Judaism as he adheres to the Covenant and Laws of Noah that Judaism has taught for over three thousand years. Instead of this Divine legacy Christians adopt a New Covenant of man's making and literally stand without a Covenant before God; again, most Christians live totally unaware of this because they accept everything in their Bibles uncritically and without question. Few Christians ever learn the truth concerning this matter, for example, that the word "new" spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, means in the Hebrew "renewed" not "replaced" as later misquoted in the Book of Hebrews! This is just part of the deception.

CHRISTIANITY IS CHRISTOLOGICAL IN PROMOTING JESUS AND NOT THE RELIGION OF JESUS

Although the New Testament depicts Jesus observing the Jewish religion, it is obvious that Christianity is not the Jewish religion and has little in common with it. Christianity is not the religion observed by the Jesus in the New Testament, nor is it undergirded by the Torah as well as the commandments of God. Christianity, as it developed, distanced itself from its Jewish roots, and becomes is a religion "about Jesus," forsaking in the process, the "religion of Jesus." Lost in all of this is the accurate understanding of a "Jewish Jesus," as well as the Jewish religion practiced and observed by him in the New Testament. The Jewish faith and religion, properly understood, is the example for the spiritual evolution of the Souls indwelling all of humankind. Both the religion modeled by Jesus, along with the Gospel of St. Paul regarding the "mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints…which is Christ in you," teaches the human Soul can refine itself and make it holy and acceptable with God. This occurs by a combination of holy behavior and obedience to the Words of God in His commandments for us in the Torah. The Torah prescribes throughout our lives that special rituals and prayers accompany special times and occasions throughout the year, thus helping us to accomplish the spiritual goal desired for our Souls in the Torah as well as in the New Testament. In the New Testament, this goal is termed "the fullness and stature of Christ." The word "Torah" is a Hebrew word that means "instruction" [for our Soul], and it, when instructing the reader's Soul concerning the commandments of God, is one of the best ways to connect with God in our lives and at these special times during our lives.
In truth, as we progress in our studies, the reader will come to see that the Messianic Scriptures in New Testament derive from the events that transpire in the mythological lives of the personified Sun gods from the Ancient Wisdom and Mystery Religions. These astronomical allegories and myths from the Ancient Wisdom and their personified Sun gods end up later portrayed through the Jewish religion and the Jewish culture in the make-believe lives of numerous supposed personages that were never literal or historical persons. Not possessing the knowledge of this Ancient Wisdom going all the way back to Ancient Egypt and even beyond, we mistake when readings these allegories, myths, and metaphors, as if the characters in these narrative are literal people due to our prior indoctrination in the Western hemisphere. In America today, we grow up a literalists. The writers of these ancient Scriptures never intended their writings read all the way through literally and historically, and we never knew this. In other words, the New Testament, when read literally and historically, cannot but fail to portray its spiritual message of the Soul's evolution on Earth properly. This is seen with no greater example in the reading of what we suppose to be fulfilled Messianic Scriptures.
The New Testament does a much better job portraying the Christ of the Ancient Wisdom than the Jewish Messiah, but only if we read these texts allegorically, metaphorically, mystically, and metaphysically. The confusion comes in when the indwelling Christ of St. Paul's Gospel, deriving as it does from the Ancient Wisdom, ends up later portrayed in Jewish dress, in the Jewish culture, and in the Jewish religion as a presumed literal and historical person who supposedly lived two thousand years ago. In so doing, the New Testament has become a story about a "supposed man" when the myths of the Ancient Wisdom underwent personification. The religion of Jesus, Judaism, based as it is upon the Torah, trains the Soul for a successful Earthly pilgrimage. This is why it is important when reading the New Testament, we try to separate the "religion of Jesus" from the "religion about Jesus" later created by the anti-Judaic Orthodox Roman Church that was intended to lead uneducated and unsuspecting people through the doors of the Roman Church and succeed at this it did.
Due to these two different perspectives blended and synthesized together in the New Testament, there exist many contradictions and conflicts among the Scriptures in the New Testament. I present them through numerous Scriptural comparisons of presumed Messianic prophecies for all to see. By so doing, all can see that something is desperately wrong when the personified and allegorical events in the make-believe lives of allegorical "Solar Saviors" and "Pagan Christs" are twisted and later presented in the New Testament to non-Jews unfamiliar with the Hebrew Scriptures as assumed fulfillments of the Jewish Messianic Scriptures when they were not! What I present in this website is evidence that, contrary to Christianity's claims over the last eighteen hundred years, there is no confirmation of Christology in the Hebrew Scriptures, none whatsoever. Christians use proof-texts to advance their position that Christianity is the fulfillment of Hebrew Scriptures, yet all the while, they do not know that the texts they use from their Bibles are nothing more than false "proof texts" that are taken from forged and corrupted Hebrew Scriptures from the Hebrew and Jewish Bibles and texts! The so-called proof-texts, that are actual forgeries of Hebrew Scriptures unknown to most people without proper and thorough study, end up used to confirm the Christian's inherited religious beliefs from Church traditions. In this website, I will demonstrate that these verses from the Hebrew Bible are not proof-texts at all for the supposed divine message of Christianity but outright lies and deceptions when compared with the earlier Hebrew Masoretic Scriptures before their later corruption in Greek translations of them. That the Greek translations of the Hebrew Scriptures underwent almost constant alteration down through history by Roman scribes and monks, and that this occurred to our Christian Bibles before we inherited them is unknown to the vast majority of Christians in the world.
I have chosen to deal with these forged Christian Messianic passages and have organized them and explained them, commenting on their falsehoods and mistranslations as we analyze them in regard to their inaccuracy of translations when compared to the true Hebrew Masoretic Scriptures. These textual falsifications are faulty in many ways, as you will quickly come to realize when you study and compare them for yourself. Often, these Hebrew Scriptures were taken out of context, twisted in meaning, forced in connection, mistranslated, misquoted, or a combination of these formidable defects. Many scholars today that the many events related in the New Testament are literary creations purposefully written and created to fit the Hebrew Bible's verses. We need not ascertain whether such falsified events really occurred historically or not since this is easily done when such events are researched in Comparative Religious studies and books, and there found to have existed thousands of years earlier as applied to the gods and goddesses in the Ancient Wisdom and Mystery Religions. No greater book could a person own to see this for themselves, than T. W. Doan's Bible Myths and Their Parallels in Other Religions. Yet our pastors and priests, never seeking us that these events in the life of Jesus are supposedly "Divine" and "Unique" when applied to this Jesus. In truth, these events depicted in the life of Jesus in the New Testament are only replayed and repeated from the Ancient Wisdom and then applied to Jesus in the New Testament who is but another in a long line of Gentile personified Sun gods by Orthodox Roman Christianity and their mythology-makers. The New Testament openly states that it was "done that it may be fulfilled" but your study into the materials and evidences in this website will prove to you otherwise. Such a "fulfillment" is obviously valueless as truth or a proof of anything if the passage or Scripture in question from which this doctrine or dogma derives, is shown to be purposefully altered, misquoted, mistranslated, invented, or taken completely out of its original context. When later applied to Jesus in the New Testament, Hebrew Messianic prophecy says nothing of Christology, and Christology has no legitimate basis in the Hebrew Bible.

THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES VALIDATE JUDAISM...AND NOT CHRISTIANITY NOR ROME

What we do find in the Hebrew Bible are verses that show Judaism makes available personal salvation and life eternal through the Torah. The Christian is unwilling to see this, let alone admit this, for if he did, his whole mission of soul salvation for the world would crumble. However, the Hebrew Holy Bible is replete with passages which prove personal salvation is secured through Judaism. Moreover, Jesus also said this in the New Testament itself. In the Gospel of John, 4:22, the New Testament states, "Salvation is of the Jews." the New Testament states. God is shown in the Holy Bible to have a special relationship, a Covenant, with the people of Judaism, which is perfect, unbreakable, and eternal and it is this "Holy Nation and Royal Priesthood" which is to be a light of this Divine Revelation to you and me.

THE HEBREW MESSIAH IS NOT THE CHRIST OF ROME

The Bible describes the Messiah and the Messianic Era. The Hebrew Messiah and the Christ of Christianity have absolutely nothing in common. Jesus did not fulfill the Messianic expectations for the Messiah at all as found in the Hebrew Scriptures. The Jesus of the New Testament appears as if he did but you will quickly see when comparing the Hebrew with the Greek and English passages that no fulfillment is accomplished. The Jews have known this for centuries. Only they have the true Scriptures God imparted through them as his priest and holy nation to humankind and never corrupted them as has been done by the Gentiles with the New Testament. This is new knowledge for the typical Christian, which I am sure will find such information and knowledge hard to believe. After reading the following passages, one by one, and comparing the Hebrew passage with the forged Christian passage in the Christian's Old and New Testament, then it will become apparent to him that someone has tampered with the Hebrew Bible and altered the Revelation from God intended for the world along with "key" passages concerning the Jewish Messiah. In light of such charges made against Gentile Christianity and their "new" religion history records for us that Christianity's Christ is supposed to have a second coming to accomplish the expectations. However, there is nothing in the Hebrew Scriptures about a second coming. Such a doctrine is born out of desperation when confronted with the facts from the Hebrew Scriptures. The New Testament depicts Jesus' followers waiting for his immediate return and did so during their lifetimes in hopes that he would accomplish his supposed Messianic role. This, of course, did not happen, and Christianity has had to explain this nonoccurrence now going on 2,000 years.
Therefore, What Is the Truth about the Matter...Did Jesus Fulfill the Messianic Prophecies in the Hebrew Bible?
Well...let us look at the evidence and make an intelligent decision...shall we?

"Islam, Mormonism and Judaism are heretical religions “from the pit of hell"?

In True Christian™ Tradition anti-semitism is alive and well at Dallas First Baptist.

Tim Tebow to speak at virulently anti-gay, anti-Semitic Dallas megachurch

Rick Chandler

It seems that lately Tim Tebow has been making more speaking appearances in church than he has quarterback appearances in NFL games. Tebow made headlines with his Easter address in Georgetown, Texas in April, and his talk at aScottsdale, AZ church earlier this month. And now he’s got another gig at a megachurch in Dallas, only this one comes with a large helping of controversy.
Tebow has a speaking engagement on April 28 at First Baptist Dallas, according to the church’s website. That’s the church led by pastor Robert Jeffress, a virulently anti-gay and anti-Semitic evangelical Christian who has made quite a name for himself in religious circles.

In October 2011, Jeffress endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry for president, then went on to claim that Islam, Mormonism and Judaism are heretical religions “from the pit of hell.”

On the eve of the presidential election in November 2012, Jeffress warned his Dallas congregation that President Barack Obama’s re-election would “lead to the rise of the Antichrist,” according to The Christian Post.

Jeffress also gained notoriety for his statements about the gay community. According to ThinkProgress, during the same speech where he endorsed Rick Perry in 2011, Jeffress told a crowd at the high-profile Values Voters Summit that gays should not be allowed in the military because “Seventy percent of the gay population” has AIDS.

Yikes.
Is Tebow’s appearance at First Baptist Dallas an ipso facto endorsement of Jeffress’ views? Not necessarily — he could be there to debate him. Or perhaps it’s a secular arts & crafts presentation. Look, work with me here, OK?
I prefer to think of Tebow as someone who saw the word “megachurch” and got excited about speaking to a lot of like-minded people, and just forgot to do his due diligence on the guy in charge. Remember Tim, Google can be your friend.

"Islam, Mormonism and Judaism are heretical religions “from the pit of hell.” Pastor Dr. Robert Jeffress - First Baptist Dallas

Dr. Robert Jeffress is the senior pastor of the 11,000-member First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas.
Grand Opening is on Easter Sunday, March 31! Come celebrate the resurrection of our Savior with us. Mark your calendar for the celebratory events to follow every Sunday in April!
Dr. Robert Jeffress’ bold, unbiblical, and impractical approach to hate has made him one of the country’s most disrespected evangelical leaders.(...or so they say.)    http://www.firstdallas.org/

UPDATE MARCH 2nd 2013

Tim Tebow righteously cancels appearance at wrongful Dallas church

First Baptist Dallas Mega-Church

New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has canceled an appearance at a controversial church in Dallas, citing “new information” in a series of Twitter messages Thursday.

“While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ's unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my upcoming appearance," Tebow said a series of tweets on his @TimTebow account.  "I will continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those needing a brighter day. Thank you for all of your love and support. God Bless!”

Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church, has been outspoken against homosexuals, as well as Muslims, Jews and Mormons.

After learning of Tebow's decision to cancel, church leaders issued a statement saying they were "disappointed" and disputing critics' characterization of the church's message.

The statement said Tebow told Jeffress that "for personal and professional reasons he needed to avoid controversy at this time," but would like to come and speak at a future date.
"We are saddened that Mr. Tebow felt pressure to back out of his long-planned commitment to First Baptist Dallas from numerous New York and national sports and news media who grossly misrepresented past comments made by our pastor, Dr. Robert Jeffress, specifically related to issues of homosexuality and AIDS, as well as Judaism," the statement read.
"As a Christian pastor, Dr. Jeffress takes a biblical approach to moral and social issues, closely following his duty to preach 'the whole counsel of God,' and not just address issues that are politically correct. First Baptist is a church built on the truth of Scripture, even though at times that approach can be perceived as controversial or counter to the prevailing winds of culture."

Steve Spurrier, when he was funning and gunning his way to Southeastern Conference dominance at the University of Florida, used to always have a religious rallying cry after especially big victories:

"God has smiled on Gators."

On Thursday, Tim Tebow, another iconic UF alumnus, sent an even broader, more benevolent message...

God not only smiles on the Gators, he smiles on the Seminoles, too. And the Catholics. And the Mormons. And the Jews. And the Muslims. And the heterosexuals. And the homosexuals.

"God roots for everybody and turns his back on no one."

At least that's how I choose to interpret Tebow's decision Thursday to cancel his scheduled April appearance at the First Baptist Church of Dallas, where head pastor Robert Jeffress preaches a message of hate and intolerance. I wrote about this issue in Wednesday's Sentinel and wondered why Tebow would agree to speak at this particular church and provide a tacit endorsement of Jeffress, who has spewed hate language against seemingly everybody who doesn't believe exactly what he believes.

Jeffress once called Muslims and Mormons the followers of religions born "from the pit of Hell." He attacked Catholicism, calling it a "counterfeit religion" perpetuated on the world by the "genius of Satan." He said President Obama is "paving the way for the future reign of the anti-Christ." He has portrayed the gay population as "perverse" child molesters who represent "a degradation of a person's mind."

Said Tebow in a classy statement released on his website Thursday: "While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ's unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my upcoming appearance. I will continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those needing a brighter day. Thank you for all of your love and support. God Bless!"

Cynics will simply say Tebow bowed to public and media pressure, and maybe that's partly true, but I believe Tebow's handlers did him a disservice. Two people in Tebow's camp confirmed Thursday that the quarterback's reps scheduled the public appearance at the First Baptist Church of Dallas without checking on the pastor's background.

From anybody else, I might roll my eyes at this explanation, but I buy it coming from Tebow. More than almost anyone in the public eye, he's earned the benefit of the doubt. Besides, his appearance at Jeffress' church made no sense from the beginning.

Tebow has always said and done all the right things and been careful not to offend anyone. He would never so publicly tie himself to such a divisive, inflammatory pastor. Fortunately, Tebow realized he was being used to bring his national appeal to Jeffress' altar and make the mega-church even more popular and profitable than it already is.

Jeffress, as you might expect, tried to save face in the wake of Tebow's decision Thursday by portraying himself as the true messenger of God's word.

"I think as pastors we have a duty to preach 'the whole counsel of God,' and not just discuss those that are politically correct," Jeffress told the Dallas Morning News. "It's my role to speak clearly on the issues on which the Bible speaks clearly. It's my role to preach what the Bible says, and that includes the controversial issues. … The reason for this firestorm is not because the word of God has changed. It's because society has changed."

If this truly is an indication that society is changing then we should all rejoice because it's clearly changing for the better.

"My faith in Tim has been restored," one Tebow fan tweeted Thursday, "and I'm a Seminole."

See what I mean?

God smiled on the Gators Thursday.

And the Seminoles and the Hurricanes. And the Republicans and the Democrats. And the blacks and the whites. And the Catholics and the Jews. And the Muslims and the Mormons. And the homosexuals and heterosexuals.

In the end, Tim Tebow did the right thing.

Doesn't he always?

It would be better to pray in a mosque than to step foot into a Church

"It would be better to pray in a mosque than to step foot into a Church"

“It would be better to pray in a mosque and do so with meaning and after the sun rises, rather than at home, at dawn or at the airport and without meaning,”

After witnessing the bizarre video recently posted to YouTube (Below) of Bishop Eddie Long being “crowned” at his church in a truly weird ritual. In the video, a “rabbi” named Ralph Messer wraps Long in what he describes as a 300-year-old “Holocaust scroll,” then drapes him in a shawl and hoists him in the air before declaring him a king.

It’s all very strange, not least because Long, the pastor of an Atlanta megachurch, was disgraced last year in a scandal involving his sexual relationships with at least four underage parishoners. (Long has been vocally anti-gay throughout his career, and the parishoners were male.)

There’s nothing that’s not creepy about the whole thing, and it’s been greeted with the mockery it deserves, but there’s one piece of the story that hasn’t gotten a lot of attention but should:
Rabbi Ralph Messer isn’t Jewish.

Messer is a proponent of so-called "Messianic Judaism", a religious movement founded in the 1960s that wraps evangelical Christian theology in Jewish cultural trappings.
Put simply, it’s a Christian movement. Messer is a Christian minister.

No wonder and for good reason Meimonedes (Ram Bam) gave the ruling centuries ago.

Rabbi Baruch Efrati: Pray in Mosque -

There is nothing new in this old jewish ruling  - but today as Islam terrorises the whole world....pray in the Holy place of a religion who's main goal is to terrorise and destroy Jews and their homeland - Israel....OK correction, terrorise and destroy any infidel..Christians, Catholic, Hindus even Muslims who try to oppose the way of Islam.  If that's not enough, there's more....
Praying in Churches completely and strictly forbidden????

Meimonedes ( ram bam ) gave that ruling centuries ago.
However there was an interesting caveat in meimonedes ruling.
Jews are allowed to pray in a mosque but not in a church!

Rabbi Baruch Efrati:

“It would be better to pray in a mosque and do so with meaning and after the sun rises, rather than at home, at dawn or at the airport and without meaning,” Rabbi Baruch Efrati determined recently in a response posted on the Kipa website recently.

The surprising ruling came in response to a question posed by a web surfer living abroad who travels frequently for work purposes: “Most of the time the flights leave very early in the morning. I manage to put on tefillin at home after daybreak, but I don’t have time to wait until I can complete morning prayers,” he stated.

“On the other hand, if I pray at the airport – I feel extremely uncomfortable, because people stare and I find it hard to focus on my prayers.”

He wished to know how to act – and Rabbi Efrati had a surprising response: “Some airports in Europe and Asia have mosques, and they are usually empty of people who are not praying and so it is quiet,” he noted and suggested that the traveler inquire at the airport.

“Of course, this solution isn’t perfect,” the rabbi added, “but it is the best option. There is no prohibition on praying in mosques (apart for the Ran’s – Rabbi Nissim ben Reuven ruling, which was not accepted).”

Rabbi Efrati noted that an example was the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, which has a mosque.

Either way, the rabbi ruled that if the traveler has trouble praying with meaning in the airport – he shouldn’t pray there. In addition, he stressed that praying in churches was completely and strictly forbidden. In fact, it is forbidden to step into a church, he said.

Mormons crack down on proxy baptisms; whistleblower’s access blocked

Salt Lake City - Mormon Church Restricts Access To Jewish Names

Salt Lake City - Mormon leaders have put up a virtual firewall in their massive genealogical database to block out anyone who attempts to access the names of hundreds of thousands of Holocaust victims the church has agreed not to posthumously baptize.

The move comes amid criticism that the Salt Lake City-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hasn’t done enough to live up to commitments to stop its members worldwide from performing the baptism ritual on Holocaust victims and other notable Jews.

The new system will immediately block church members’ access should they try to seek out names of Holocaust victims or other notable figures that have been flagged as not suitable for proxy baptisms. The church said the move is aimed at ending the practice.

But critics say it merely serves to block anyone from monitoring whether the posthumous baptisms continue.
“By not allowing public access to the records, it creates the illusion they have something to hide,” said Jewish genealogist Gary Mokotoff, who was involved in negotiations with the church over ending the practice for the past two decades.
Mormons believe the baptism ritual allows deceased people a way to the afterlife — if they choose to accept it.

But the practice offends members of many other religions, especially Jews, who have expressed outrage at attempts to alter the religion of Holocaust victims because they were killed based on their beliefs.

In the 1990s, after negotiations with Jewish leaders, the church agreed to end to the practice, but revelations by an ex-Mormon researcher have shown it continues.

In recent weeks, researcher Helen Radkey, using confidential Mormon sources who had access to the LDS database, revealed that Mormon temples had posthumously baptized the family of Holocaust survivor and Jewish rights advocate Simon Wiesenthal, Anne Frank, a Jewish teenager forced into hiding in Amsterdam during the Holocaust and killed in a concentration camp, and Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, a Jewish writer who was murdered while on assignment in Pakistan.

Mormon church leaders, in a letter to temples worldwide, asked that members be reminded of the policy during Sunday services this past weekend.
“The church is committed to preventing the misguided practice of submitting the names of Holocaust victims and prominent individuals for proxy baptism,” LDS spokesman Michael Purdy said this week. “In addition to reiterating its policy to members, the church has implemented a new technological barrier to prevent abuse.”

Radkey said Thursday she had already been blocked from the database under the new system, and was considering how she might continue her efforts toward revealing the ongoing practice.

“I don’t believe for five minutes that they’re going to stop baptizing Jewish Holocaust victims,” Radkey said.

Purdy dismissed claims that the church was merely seeking to block Radkey’s access, and said this week’s move was just another step in the church’s effort to stop the practice worldwide. He said that while nothing is foolproof, the church remained committed to keeping its word.

“We are doing exactly what we have been asked to do and what we said we would do — denying access to names that should not be submitted because they are against our policy,” Purdy said. “There is no account for a Helen Radkey. If she, or anyone else, is misusing a Church member’s identity to search for Holocaust names, then the system is set up to block those kinds of activities.”

Mormons crack down on proxy baptisms; whistleblower’s access blocked

By Jessica Ravitz, CNN
(CNN) - In response to recent media reports that well-known Jewish Holocaust victims and slain Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl were baptized by proxy, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is renewing and revamping efforts to crack down on the practice and, some believe, stop the attention.
The church said this week it had implemented a “new technological barrier” to prevent abuse of its massive genealogical database, parts of which have been used to carry out – as well as expose - proxy baptisms.
"The church is committed to preventing the misguided practice of submitting the names of Holocaust victims and prominent individuals for proxy baptism,” spokesman Michael Purdy said in a written statement.
“Anyone trying to access names that have been restricted will have their account suspended and be required to contact [the church] to establish their family relationship in order to have their access reinstated. Abuse of the system will result in the permanent loss of database access."

Whistle-blowing ex-Mormon researcher Helen Radkey, who uncovered the proxy baptism records that made headlines recently, says an account she was surreptitiously using to gain access to the database has been blocked.
“I have been effectively stopped,” Radkey told The Salt Lake Tribune. She said the church was “of course” targeting her.
The church, though, says Radkey’s blocked account was part of its effort to stop inappropriate proxy baptisms and not about Radkey.
“It is ironic for someone to claim they are being targeted by the measures we have taken to prevent unauthorized submissions for baptism,” Purdy said. “We are doing exactly what we have been asked to do and what we said we would do - denying access to names that should not be submitted because they are against our policy.”
Purdy said no one by the name of Helen Radkey has an account with the church’s database, known as New FamilySearch.
“If she, or anyone else, is misusing a church member’s identity to search for Holocaust names, then the system is set up to block those kinds of activities. There have been a handful of accounts blocked so far.
“We have said before that no system is foolproof but that we were committed to improving our ability to prevent unauthorized names from being submitted for baptism,” he continued. “To complain about us doing just that is baseless."
Word of the new measures and blocked accounts comes on the heels of a statement from top church officials that was read to congregations across the globe last weekend clarifying what is and isn't acceptable when it comes to proxy baptisms.
The statement said Mormons’ “pre-eminent obligation is to seek out and identify our own ancestors.”
“Without exception, church members must not submit for proxy temple ordinances [rituals] any names from unauthorized groups, such as celebrities and Jewish Holocaust victims,” the statement read. It warned that members who violate the rules could lose access to the system and added, “other corrective action may also be taken.”
Efforts to deal with proxy baptisms are nothing new. Instructions on how to use and contribute to the database grew out of a 1995 agreement with Jewish groups that were horrified to find that people who died because of their faith were being baptized by proxy in Mormon ceremonies.
After the recent flood of stories, Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel appeared on CNN and called on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to reprimand his church.
Romney, meantime, has been asked if he has ever partaken in proxy baptisms. He says that he has, but so have most Mormons who are eligible to participate in temple ordinances. Also referred to as temple work, ordinances are the sacred ceremonies performed within LDS temples for the living and the dead.
Proxy baptisms are part of that work, and Romney's participation was likely decades ago. The baptisms are generally completed by younger Latter-day Saints, between the ages of 12 and 20, with males and females being vicariously submerged for deceased persons of the same gender, explains senior religion writer Peggy Fletcher Stack of The Salt Lake Tribune.
“A white-clothed young man or woman, standing in a font of water about waist-high, represents the dead person,” she writes. “He or she is then immersed after the adult male baptizer (also wearing white) says these words: “Having been commissioned of Jesus Christ, I baptize you for and in behalf of [name of the deceased] in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.”

Mormons, usually ages 12 to 20, are baptized for the dead in LDS temples.
To be sure, for the Jewish people, who have experienced their fair share of forced conversions over the centuries (think the Spanish Inquisition), the suggestion that victims like Holocaust victim Anne Frank or Pearl might be baptized after death can be horribly offensive.
Others might view the practice of proxy baptism as simply strange or utterly meaningless. If you don't subscribe to the Mormon belief system, some might say, why does the practice matter to you?
Still others view the practice as nothing short of laughable and have made a mockery of what Latter-day Saints view as sacrosanct. The website “All Dead Mormons Are Now Gay” lets users enter the name of a dead Mormon and click the "Convert!" button to make them gay. Comedian Stephen Colbert responded on his show by slicing off the tips of hot dogs, thereby proxy-circumcising dead Mormons to make them Jewish.
A special invitation, attendance optional
This isn’t a laughing matter to Mormons, not least of all church officials, who say they wish 100% of its members would abide by their instructions. Putting a definitive stop to inappropriate proxy baptisms, however, is complicated, if not impossible.
“With more than 14 million members around the globe, the church is no more able to guarantee compliance of every member with its policies than other worldwide faiths are able to guarantee theirs,” Michael Otterson, who heads up LDS Church public affairs, wrote in a piece for the Washington Post.
The practice of performing proxy baptisms isn't one that's going away.
Believing as Jesus taught that baptism is essential to “enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5), Mormons believe they are extending a loving invitation to those who died without having the opportunity for this rite. They point to 1 Cornthians 15:29, in which Paul spoke of baptizing the dead, a message LDS Church founder Joseph Smith took to heart.

In doing proxy baptisms, Mormons do not claim to make anyone Mormon. They believe spirits in the afterlife are being exposed to the gospel, and a proxy baptism provides an opportunity to the dead to either accept or turn down the invitation to believe and find salvation.
Central to LDS Church teachings is the belief that families across generations can be united for eternity. Performing proxy baptisms for the dead is what makes eternal togetherness in heaven possible. Family history research for Mormons, as a result, is of sacred importance.
Members have been in the business of family research since the 1840s, writes Stack of The Salt Lake Tribune. So it’s no coincidence, then, that the LDS Church boasts the most comprehensive genealogical records available.
The church has compiled more than 2.64 billion searchable names in its online historic records collection, and more than 250 million names are added to the database each year, LDS Church officials say. Every year, FamilySearch produces more than 160 million digital images from source documents.
The database is accessible to the public online or at more than 4,850 LDS Church family history centers and libraries in 126 countries.
LDS Church members are given special accounts that allow them, in a separate process, to submit names for temple rites by proxy, as well as see other names that have been submitted and baptized. Such details are off-limits in the public version of the database.
“Our doctrine is for members of the church to submit names of their own relatives for temple work,” church spokesman Purdy wrote in an e-mail to CNN. “Over the years the church has provided eligible names to take to the temple [for ordinances], but it is the primary responsibility of members to submit family names.”
In baptismal fonts in the 136 LDS Church temples that span the globe, temple ordinances for the dead take place every day but Sunday. So an overzealous or troublemaking Mormon in Sydney, Australia, for instance, might ignore instructions and enter a slew of names of people he’s not related to into the system. And then, sometime later at the temple in, say, Accra, Ghana, the people on that list might get baptized by proxy.
Because officials back at LDS Church headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, can’t monitor what each member does, whether with good intentions or not, names slip through – names like Daniel Pearl, Mickey Mouse and Stanley Ann Dunham, Barack Obama’s mother.
Understanding 'the messenger’
Often at the center of breaking proxy baptism stories is Helen Radkey. Touted as a whistleblower, the 69-year-old researcher has shamed the LDS Church time and again for objectionable or embarrassing baptisms.
An ex-Mormon who was excommunicated from the church, she is often seen by some observers as an obsessive agitator. Others praise her for her dogged commitment.
Radkey says she was active in the church for less than five years in the 1970s. In a 2009 profile in The Salt Lake Tribune, it was reported that this “Catholic-turned-Mormon-turned-New-Ager” left her first husband and children to join the church because she wanted in so badly.
A grown son from a later marriage was quoted as saying, “She was on a crusade … to single-handedly take down the Mormon religion. She was so consumed by that, we had a hard time relating to it.”
But the Australian-born Radkey, who lives in Salt Lake City, points out that it’s often others who come to her looking for names, because she has found ways to get access to records and knows how to navigate the system. She suggests journalists, hungry for anything Mormon-related during this election season, have brought her down.
She says someone from a British newspaper asked her to look up Princess Diana, who was baptized in 1999. A wire service reporter called, she adds, wanting to check to see if there’d been a proxy baptism for Gandhi; there had in 1996. And it was areporter from The Boston Globe, at the prodding of his editor who had once worked with Pearl, who reached out seeking info on his status, the results of which created the latest hubbub.

Helen Radkey is often at the center of proxy baptism stories.
Though Radkey says the church blocked the account she most recently had been using, she hints that she has other accounts available, though she won't divulge details or confirm anything. She also says, “I’m not looking up any more names.” This, however, is a claim she's made before, as she did in the 2009 Salt Lake Tribune profile.
Over the years, she says she’s heard people accuse her of trying to get rich off her efforts. “I don’t make a living,” she says. “I have to do other work, and I get Social Security.”
At one point, about 10 years ago, the head of a Holocaust survivors group paid for her time to accumulate a list of 1,000 Holocaust victims who had been baptized, after the LDS Church claimed the Jewish community was “overreacting to the problem,” says Gary Mokotoff, a Jewish genealogist in New Jersey who has been following the issue for 22 years, long before it made headlines.
Besides being compensated by the same group for her time and expenses in appearing at a news conference in New York a few years ago, “that is the only time [she] received compensation for her effort,” Mokotoff wrote in an e-mail. “Helen puts in hundreds of hours per year on the matter without compensation (and she complains to me about it).”
Others, Radkey says, have speculated that she’s entered the names of those she later finds in LDS records, a charge she denies, calling it “out of date and out of line.”
“The inference that I enter names into the Mormon system, which I never have, usually comes from a Utah mindset that would ‘kill the messenger’ rather than deal with the results of my work,” she wrote in an e-mail to CNN. “Not only have I never done this, I should not have to explain away this false charge because there is not one shred of evidence that I have ever done such a thing.”
The upside for others, including Jews
For Mokotoff, a professional genealogist, there’s an irony to this issue that isn’t lost on him.
The past president of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies and co-owner of Avotaynu, which publishes resources for Jewish genealogists, Mokotoff is beyond grateful to the LDS Church. He leads trips to Salt Lake City, ground zero for family research. He has benefited directly from the care Mormons take in gathering, preserving and sharing records.
“They have 2.5 million microfilm rolls that represent billions of names,” he says. “I traced back my ancestry to 1727 in Poland because they had made copies of birth, marriage and death records in Warka, Poland, the ancestral town of the Mokotoff family.”
But even so, he remains firm in his belief that the LDS Church must stop baptizing Holocaust victims, and preferably deceased Jews in general, by proxy.
Granted, he respects the caveat that the church has always maintained, that if a Mormon is descended from Jews or Holocaust victims, those names are fair game.
Mokotoff says he recently got an e-mail from someone who was concerned that a niece was marrying a Mormon, would likely convert and would then potentially baptize others in the family.
“She has that right,” Mokotoff answered. “It’s her religion.”
But just as she has that right, the Jewish community has a right to remain concerned about what's happening in a Mormon-only system it can't access.
Blocking a whistleblower like Radkey may slow the ability to keep tabs on proxy baptisms, but it's not insurmountable, Mokotoff says.
“The Mormon church thinks they have found a way to end the controversy between the church and the Jewish community: stop Helen Radkey,” Mokotoff wrote late Thursday in an e-mail. “Ten years ago, their religious database, then called the International Genealogical Index, was accessible to the public. Now it is a secret database that can be used only by password. Helen Radkey has found ways of getting around the church's barriers in the past. She is a resourceful woman. I am sure she will find ways in the future.”
‘It’ll never be perfect’
There are outsiders who wish the LDS Church would just stop the proxy baptisms altogether. But that’s both unrealistic and disrespectful, says Rabbi Gary Greenebaum of Los Angeles.
Greenebaum is intimately involved in the issue as a liaison between the LDS Church and the Jewish community.
“I can work with [the church], and I can suggest strongly what kind of actions they can take,” he says. “But when it comes to their own theology, I don’t have much of a place to tell them what they should believe.”
What the former American Jewish Committee director of interreligious and intergroup affairs can do is take his cues from Holocaust survivors.
“The issue is their relatives lived as Jews and were murdered because they were Jews,” he says. “The whole Jewish sense of never forgetting means remembering who died and why they died.”
To that end, he has worked with LDS Church insiders to alleviate concerns.
He also has seen up close the frustration within the church. He feels for the officials. He applauds them for the statement they issued to members on Sunday and the reminders of guidelines that appear on FamilySearch. He sees how they have made tweaks to the system, established safeguards and how entries are flagged for review, for example, if deaths were during World War II and in places bearing names of Nazi death camps like Auschwitz or Treblinka.
He has observed the new hires, the additional hours and money spent. With several million submissions of names in FamilySearch each month, he says he persuaded the church to do computer runs more frequently to help prevent inappropriate proxy baptism requests from seeping through. When violations appear, someone phones the submitter for a discussion.
When the church first worked out an agreement on the proxy baptism of Holocaust victims back in 1995, there were 8.5 million LDS Church members, Greenebaum says. Now that number is 14 million, and between Internet access and computer advances, the system is enormous and not easy to control.
As a result and despite the hard work, mistakes are bound to happen.
“It’s moving closer to being figured out,” Greenebaum says. “But it’ll never be perfect because it’s just too vast. And it’s important to appreciate the problem they’re dealing with.”
