Pat Robertson tells viewer with ‘demons’ to ‘burn the house down’ or get exorcism

Robertson tells viewer with ‘demons’ to ‘burn the house down’ or get exorcism

Televangelist Pat Robertson on Tuesday advised a viewer who he suspected was being tormented by “demons” to “burn the house down,” move or get an exorcism.

In a letter to CBN, a person wrote that their house had “moaning coming from the walls, lights turn on and off, the TV changes channels on its own, the beds move, stuff floats off tables, mirrors break, and there is sometimes a creepy fog.”

“The ghosts look like people, but have dark blue light around their feet and hands,” the viewer added. “What do I do?”

“If it was me, I would burn the house down and move on,” Robertson laughed. “But assuming you can’t afford that, I don’t believe in ghosts, I don’t think the Bible supports the concept of people coming back to haunt houses.”

“But I do believe in demons. The Bible clearly says there’s fallen angels and these demonic forces, and you need to get people to come and to get people to do an exorcism over that property and command those demons to leave. That’s what you do. You take authority in the name of Jesus.”

The TV preacher concluded: “And if you can’t do that, move.”

Pray over Goodwill clothes as may have demonic spirits attached

Pray over Goodwill clothes as may have demonic spirits attached

"I bought a pair of Levi 501 jeans from Goodwill last fall, all this time I thought there was a bobcat in my pants. Happy am I to find it was only demons. Glory."

Pat Robertson addressed whether or not items bought at Goodwill had demonic spirits attached to them. On Monday’s episode of Robertson’s program “700 Club”, Pat suggested praying over any items bought at Goodwill and other second hand stores.
The subject came up thanks to one of the show’s viewer questions emailed to Pat Robertson. The viewer’s question was:
"I buy a lot of clothes and other items at Goodwill and other secondhand shops. Recently my mom told me that I need to pray over the items, bind familiar spirits and bless the items before I bring them into the house. Is my mother correct? Can demons attach themselves to material items?”
The televangelist replied to the viewer question by telling a story about a girl who thought a ring she owned had been prayed over by a witch. “She had to buy it and all hell broke loose because she finally recognized what it was.”
Pat Robertson said that “not all clothes had demonic spirits attached to them, it never hurts to take some precautionary measures.” One of the precautionary measures someone could take is saying a prayer over the clothes.
Robertson said, “it ain’t going to hurt anything to rebuke any spirits that happened to have attached themselves to those clothes.”
Pat Robertson’s daily television program can be seen on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Judaism rejects the concept of a "Devil", an 'fallen' angel.

The Devil is Real...or so they say.

Judaism rejects the concept of a "Devil", an 'fallen' angel with free will who is in 'rebellion' against G-d and is ruler of Hell. The term "Lucifer' is a corrupt and purposely mis-leading translation from the Book of Isaiah in theTanach. The original and correct Hebrew term means 'Morning Star" and is the title of the King of Babylon, not some super natural demon. Judaism rejects the concept of "Original Sin" that requires a hell to punish people in and Judaism rejects the idea that the "Devil" rules in "Hell".

We do have S'tan, an angel with NO free will and who is totally obedience to G-d, like all other angels. S'tan's job is to act as the DA>Fred Thompson< on 'Law & Order', bringing charges, accusations against the bad acts of people. But all the mythology that has evolved in Christianity about the "Devil" is completely absent in Judaism. In effect, Christianity has created a 4th god. Judaism forbids the worship of any god but G-d.

Demons are supernatural, malevolent beings with the power to cause hurt to humans. Belief in demons, though not very pronounced in Jewish life and thought, is still prevalent, in a semi-comical way, at the level of folklore. Even some of the learned feel compelled to accept, perhaps not too seriously, belief in demons because this belief is implied in the Talmud in many places.
The Babylonian Talmud, in particular, produced against a Zoroastrian background in which the belief was strongly rooted, contains stories of visitations by demons and spells to ward jewish demonthem off. There is even a report of a rabbi conversing with a demon prince.
It is completely unhistorical to maintain, as didKrochmal, that all these references were inserted into the Talmud by ignorant copyists or by those influenced by folk-beliefs said to have been repudiated by the rabbis themselves.

Medieval Rationalists

Some of the medieval thinkers accepted the belief in demons. Others rejected the belief as contrary to the doctrine of divine providence. Why should God have surrendered His control of the universe, on some occasions, into the power of such creatures?
Abraham Ibn Ezra rejects entirely the notion that demons really exist. Maimonides either ignores the talmudic references to demons or gives these a rationalistic explanation; as, for example, when he understands the mishnaic reference to an 'evil spirit' against which a light can be put out even on the Sabbath, to mean a spirit of melancholy.
Menahem Meiri generally follows a similar demythologizing tendency when he understands the talmudic reference to warding off the demons by reciting the Shema before retiring as meaning that evil thoughts invade the mind at bedtime and these can successfully be dispelled through the recitation of the Shema. Meiri also understands the talmudic reference to Joseph the demon, who was able to traverse great distances through the air, to mean that there was a skilled acrobat who could vault over great distances and who was known as 'Joseph the devil' in the sense that he was a devil-may-care character.

From the Kabbalah

The Kabbalah has a vast demonology of its own. The demonic powers constitute an unholy parody of the sacred realms against which they are in constant battle. In a very revealing illustration, the Zohar compares the "Other Side," the domain of the evil powers, to a vicious dog held by its owner on a long lead. The dog, though it appears to enjoy independent power, is pulled back whenever it is in danger of getting out of control.
Under the influence of the Kabbalah, especially, belief in the existence of demons became widespread. Although there is no official Jewish rite of exorcism, there are numerous tales of saintly men exorcising demons from houses and persons.
Belief in demons is thus generally present but very peripheral in the Jewish scheme. No representative thinker, for instance, ever thought of dubbing Ibn Ezra a heretic because he refused to believe in demons. Needless to say, sophisticated Jewish thinkers who did believe in the existence of demons did not think of these as little devils with forked tails breathing fire but as spiritual forces which God has unleashed in the world for purposes of His own, or as harmful psychological processes which take place in the human mind.

Forget the War on Terror, We Got Demons!

Forget the War on Terror, We Got Demons!

Emergency Alert to All Citizens Within a 200 Mile Radius of Freehold, Iowa!

Demon Turkeys to the Slaughter in the Name of Jesus Christ!
Posted Sat Oct 8, 2011 5:48pm PDT by Freehold News
Freehold, Iowa- The Landover Baptist Board of Deacons and the Freehold Town Council have officially announced that all of the traditional Thanksgiving food and any Indian within a 200 mile radius of Bob Kidwell's Turkey Farm had to be hacked into tiny pieces and tossed in the landfill last Tuesday. "It was hard to keep track of how many of the causalities were turkeys and how many were Injuns," said Pastor Deacon Fred, "since they both hop around a lot and wear feathers. The most important thing is that we need to get out the word that this wasn't caused by any terrorists! We don't have to worry about those sorts of things up here in Iowa, A-men? Friends, we are dealing with something even more horrifying than brown-skinned Allah worshippers, and as Christians, we know the threat is even more REAL! That's right friends, I'm talking about demons! Satan's very own little terrorists!"

Earlier in the week, Deacon Fred told a gathering of Platinum Tithers that demons which visiting exorcist, Pastor Needham, had intended to send into a herd of pigs in accordance with Matthew 8:31, inadvertently entered hundreds of thousands of squawking turkeys at Bob Kidwell's Turkey Farm instead. "Old Pastor Needham's getting on up in years," Pastor Deacon Fred said, "and I guess his aim is just a wee bit off, which is why I never like to sit on his toilet."

Pastor Deacon Fred reported that over 450 Christian serving colored Baptist school children, wielding machetes and shotguns, were immediately turned loose on the turkey farm, but not soon enough, as over 50 incidents of demon-infested turkey attacks were reported within the vicinity. He related that in one case at Wanda's Diner, a parishioner nearly had his entire face pecked off by a turkey potpie. It took two Christian men armed only with a meat tenderizer and a potato peeler to restrain the demon-possessed turkey entree. "We spent a good part of the evening rounding up all the stray turkeys," said Pastor. "Folks will tell you that turkeys can't fly, but they ain't seen them after Sister June Gordon gets them in the tail with her bazooka!

Included in the people who were slaughtered solely as a safety precaution was a group of local Indians who were training to cover their red naked rear-ends so they could serve as waiters at Landover's Thanksgiving feast. "We are not taking any chances," said Pastor. "We didn't find any Injun bones after we firebombed the turkey farm, so it's as clear as hell is hot that the Injuns are alive, demon-possessed and running loose on church property. I don't want folks to panic - as it will only mess up their aim when they see one of these red-butted scallywags."

The Platinum Tithers joined a hastily assembled lynch-and-lunch club of concerned Christians gathering on the East Lawn. Pastor assured the fully armed crowd that the incident was only a minor setback. "There is no need to get angry and all worked up about not having anyone to wait tables and clean up at this year's Thanksgiving feast," he said. "We've got ourselves plenty more uncontaminated Injuns we've flown in from Winnipeg for this thing. With the Canadian dollar being worthless, we've doubled up on Pocahontas-style busgirls, too. This here group that got infected however, is so crazy with demons, they could barely hold their johnsons to pee, much less a sterling turkey platter!"

The Christian lynch-and-lunch club was quickly organized into a group of deputized Deacons who were sworn to hunt down the demon possessed Indians before sunrise. A nosy local reporter asked if any of the Indians were armed, apparently concerned that church members were taking the so-called law into their own hands. "We've got metal detectors covering 1,800 square miles of the Landover Baptist Church Campus," said Pastor. "But metal detectors aren't much good against the Injuns' tomahawks, which are made from stone, wood, and the petrified animal turds which the Injuns chew on for hours to make them to weapons-grade consistency." He told the reporter that church members were left with no option but to adopt a 'shoot on sight' policy. "Actually, it isn't really 'shoot on sight,' clarified Pastor. "This ain't the Revolutionary war and we ain't Israel Putnam. Weapons have come a long way since then. The range on most of the weapons owned by our congregation is so long that we can't see half the things we kill! In any event, everyone is a little on edge recently but this really helps everyone feel a bit more safe."

"These are True Christians in action," said Sister Sarah Palin when she heard about the recent demon outbreak at Landover Baptist. "I think Pastor Deacon Fred's "There'll Be Plenty of Time For Questions At The Autopsy " is a shoot-on-sight policy that should be adapted to cover all America-hating liberals and non-Christians in recognition of these special times and will only be necessary for the duration of the war, which could be at least through the next election."
