Messianic Believers asked to Leave the Pulpit?
27 Ye shall not round the corners of your
heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
Gomorrah Texas – Apostolic District Board asks preachers to withdraw from their fellowship. Since popularity of the computer in every home Apostolic preachers in a search for information to better understand scripture have began learning the Hebrew language via online Hebrew courses. These preachers and teachers are now able to read for themselves exactly what their bible verses mean in the original tongue. This has cause an uproar in the Apostolic community with district policies being written questioning it’s ministers adherence to long held beliefs and values.
“The District Board has adopted a plan of action and asks the district superintendent to follow up on these matters. We expect those who are used in public leadership, such as preaching, teaching and leading in worship, will reflect the values of the New Testament church as understood and proclaimed by the UPCI.”
Once I began looking at the fabricated prophecies which are nothing more than fabrications, misquotations, and misapplications of passages from the Hebrew Scriptures, I began to question some of the other doctrines of our denomination, Said Reverend Donavan Snodgrass of White Settlement, TX.
The District resolution; while being thankful for revival and growth must acknowledge that a few ministers question their Apostolic distinctive, particularly aspects of holiness in outward appearance and possibly their doctrine of salvation?
Buck Twyman, a former member of the church choir, after refusing to cut his beard, was asked to remove himself from the platform during services. His cousin, Sis Patty Twyman of the Holy Magic Hair fame said, you can’t have a beard and be saved. She was shocked after being informed, Christ was a Jew.
We are implementing the district board’s policy as understood by UPCI. No beards and no more mixed bathing by our members according to the 2012 Articles of Faith. We’re unsure about the internet it’s not mentioned in the United Pentecostal Church International Ministerial Manual. We admonish all of our people to refrain from any of these practices in the interest of spiritual progress and the soon coming of the Lord for His church.
What has made Apostolic believers so vulnerable to Bible tampering is that almost none of them can read or understand the Hebrew Bible in its original language. Virtually no Christian child in the world is taught the Hebrew language as part of a formal Christian education. We plan to keep it this way, said Pastor Cletus Wingfield.
Reverend Wingfield plans to ask for a new resolution for the district to ban online Hebrew course or any child of God learning to read and understand the Hebrew Bible. "If the seventeenth century King James Bible was good enough for Peter and Paul, it's good enough for our 21st Century Churches."
